Today's pics: Going for something a little more French for lunch today (a croque monsieur for Aaron and a ham and cheese crepe for me); an evening stroll by the Louvre.

Mardi à Paris
This is one of the 3 1/2 weeks or so when Aaron is going to be fully on vacation while we are here, so we are doing our duty and hitting a few museums in addition to our aimless walks around new neighborhoods. Today, we discovered that a surprising number of museums are actually closed on Tuesdays, but we hit upon one that was both open and free, and it turned out to be quite impressive: the Musée Carnavalet in the Marais district, three metro stops down from our apartment. After spending several hours perusing galleries that covered over 500 years of Paris history, the main thing I learned is how little I know about French history. To try to remedy this sad situation, I stopped by the museum bookstore on the way out and purchased 100 Dates de l'Histoire de France Racontées aux Enfants (100 Dates in French History Told to Children), a picture book with about a paragraph in easy French about each event -- about my speed :).
